SQ11: My ABC of Faith

Faith is the beginning of everything! Thus, faith principle is the most important of all the principles in interpreting the Bible.

We can see in the Bible that Scripture is beyond the comprehension of the people who are not Christian for the things written in the Bible seem foolishness to them because they don’t understand them. Hence, in interpreting the Bible, one must have first the spirit that helps people to understand the Bible. That spirit is only given to those who have faith in God.

Once a man has that Holy Spirit who gives the true understanding of the revelation of the Lord, all the other principle would be a great help in interpreting the Bible. This means faith take precedence. No matter how sincere or determined a man to interpret the Bible, all of his effort in interpretation of the Scripture would be senseless.

God’s word is the revelation of His will. A man itself is fallible. Basically, man is not in the will of God after the fall. What makes a man in alignment of the will of God is the presence of the Holy Spirit in his/her life. The Holy Spirit is the seal that has been given to those who have faith in Christ Jesus.

One of the reasons why the Bible seems complicated and hard to understand is the wrong way of interpreting it by the people who have not known what faith means. These people are the people who think they know everything and yet they are fool for they know nothing of. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” If you really want to know own to interpret the Bible then, accept Christ as your Lord and Savior and listen to the Holy Spirit for the proper interpretation of the Bible…feels His presence as your read the word of God.
